Shop Online To Save Money And The Environment

How many of us do our shopping online? I’m willing to bet that since the economy has taken this downward spiral and fuel prices have been so high that more and more people have turned to online stores and away from the traditional bricks and mortar stores. Let’s face it the convenience of online shopping just can not be beat and with the ability to check any number of stores to compare prices in an instant. The odds are in your favor that you will find what you are looking for at a price you can be happy with.

With the global economies in such a mess right now, for shoppers everywhere it’s all about price. How much money can we save and keep in our bank accounts. Online retailers are pouncing on the high gas prices by offering free shipping deals. Especially the traditional bricks and mortar stores who have seen a decrease in foot traffic through their stores due to the higher gas prices. Most major retailers that have online stores to compliment their bricks and mortar stores offering free shipping when you spend a minimum sometimes as low as $25.

Not only are you saving money on gas when you do your shopping online but you are also helping the environment as well. The more people that do their shopping online the less traffic we have on our roads and the smaller the carbon emissions footprint will be on our environment. Doing your shopping online is a great way to go green and save money at the same time.

Green globeI feel that those of us that are concerned for the environment are already on board with doing our shopping online and thankfully a side effect to all the high fuel prices is that more people have turned to online shopping as well. Now that fuel prices have started to come down however is no reason to stop shopping online, remember when you shop online not only can you help save the environment but you can also save some money for your wallet too.

    I wonder if this trend will continue, now that gas prices are as low as they were a year ago (almost).

      @Carla -
      I hope the trend continues Carla, who doesn’t love to save money and helping the environment as a bonus is a no brainer to me at least. I hope others will agree.
